CONCLUDED!! JAMB meets WAEC, NECO, to fix 2017 UTME Date

JAMB has now concluded plans to fix the dates for the 2017 UTME. This was made known today by The Head, Media and Information of the board, Dr Fabian Benjamin.

Members of the JAMB board have been scheduled to meet with board members of WAEC, NECO and NABTEB on Tuesday, 17th January, to find suitable dates for the 2017 UTME.

JAMB Announces Deadline For 2016/2017 Admission Exercise for All Schools

JAMB Admission Deadline for 2016/2017 Session.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) through its Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede has revealed that the deadline for the 2016/2017 academic session admission exercise has been stipulated to Wednesday, 30th November, 2016.

The JAMB Registrar, made this known during the technical meeting on 2016 admissions to first choice institutions which was held at Bayero University Kano (BUK)

He further buttressed that it was compulsory for all vice-chancellors, rectors and provosts to strictly abide by the agreement and ensure its full implementation.

He said, "The Senate or Academic Board of each institution has the prerogative of admitting candidates to their respective institutions subject, of course, only to national policies which include guidelines stipulated by the proprietors of the institutions, 60:40 (Science/Art) ratio for Conventional Universities, 80:20 (Science/Art) ratio for Non-Conventional Universities, 70:30 (Technology/Non-Technology) ratio for National Diploma Awarding Institutions, Use of 2016 JAMB UTME results printouts for all candidates who scored 180 and above, among others."

Breaking! JAMB Releases Statement On The 2016/2017 Admission Lists

JAMB To Validate The Admission Lists Of Various Tertiary Institutions This Week

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disclosed that arrangements have been concluded to hold a technical meeting at the Bayero University in Kano from Aug. 22 to Aug. 26, 2016.

According to the board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, during the meeting, the board will receive the lists of candidates who had met the admission criteria from the various tertiary institutions (universities, polytechnics and colleges of education.)

The Board will then go through the list with other stake holders to see if they comply with the admission criteria.

If the board is satisfied with the outcome, it will ratify the lists and admission print-outs issued to the respective institutions.

Consequent upon that, the names of successful candidates would be uploaded on the website of the respective institutions for candidates to view and print their admission letters.

The admission letters will bear details such as admission status, school and course of study, and equally the duration of such course of study

Unbelievable! JAMB Withdraws List Of Candidates Earlier Sent To Institutions For 2016 Admission

Report reaching us now has it that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) earlier  stated yesterday that it has withdrawn the list of recommended candidates for 2016 admission that was earlier sent to tertiary institutions few weeks ago. 

The statement which was signed by the Head of Media, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, stated that the reason for the withdrawal is to ensure that the university senate perform its statutory responsibility of selecting candidates and referring them to JAMB for confirmation in line within the admission criteria (merit, catchment and educationally disadvantaged states (ELDs) as stipulated by the Minister of Education Mallam Adamu Adamu.

The statement equally revealed that the list earlier sent, was to help "fast track" the admission process; stating that candidates should note panic as it is part of the admission process for 2016.

It further stated that the Board regrets any inconveniences this proactive step may have caused tertiary institutions.

With this development, it simply means that the JAMB 2016 admission posting is no longer valid.

Full Guide on How To Calculate OAU Screening Aggregate Score for 2016 Aspirants

It's no more news that Obafemi Awolowo University (O.A.U) Ile-Ife has begun the sale of their Post Screening form which the deadline for applications is 30th July, 2016 (For Direct Entry candidates) Now, the main problem is that some applicants finds it difficult to ascertain the method of calculating the aggregate score for the screening Anyway, it's as simple as A,B,C... 

Kindly follow me as i explain How To Calculate OAU screening Aggregate Score below: 

For JAMBites

i. Both your JAMB score and your O’level results’ grades will be used to calculate the total screening score. ii. Your JAMB result is 70% of your total score & your O’level results grade is the remaining 30% 
iii. Your best 8 subjects grade will also be used for the calculation; here is what each grade weighs: A1 = 8 marks, B2 = 7 marks, B3 = 6 marks, C4 = 5 marks, C5 = 4 marks, and C6 = 3 marks. 
iv. The maximum obtainable points from the selected best 8 O’level grades is 64 (i.e A1 = 8marks multiply by 8 subjects). 
v. The total points you obtained after calculating Your O’level points will now be converted to 30% (for example if your O’level points is 48, it will then be calculated as: 48/64 X 30= 22.5) Therefore, your NEW O'LEVEL POINTS will now be 22.5 
vi. Now, to calculate your UTME points, follow this procedure: Divide Your JAMB score by 400, then multiply it by 70. For example, if your JAMB score is 250. Calculate it as: 250/400, X 70= 43.75 43.75 is now the UTME POINTS 
vii. To calculate the TOTAL SCREENING POINTS = UTME points (max of 70) + your O’ level points (max of 30) = 100. For example, if your O'LEVEL POINTS is 22.5 and your UTME POINTS is 43.75. You'll now calculate it as 22.5 + 43.75= 66.25 This deduce that you scored 66.25 out of 70 as your TOTAL SCREENING POINTS 
viii. You'll be prompted to choose any two courses while doing the registration. NOTE: Do not choose a Course that doesnot match your O'level results. 
ix. The total fee for OAU screening Registration is N6,850 

HOW TO CALCULATE OAU SCREENING POINTS For Direct Entry(DE) Candidates
i. It's only your O’level results’ grades that will be used to calculate the total screening score.
ii. Your JAMB result weighs nothing but 0% and your O’level results is 100% of the total screening score. 
iii. Just as i earlier explained "Your best 8 subjects grade will be used for the calculation; here is what each grade weighs: A1 = 8 marks, B2 = 7 marks, B3 = 6 marks, C4 = 5 marks, C5 = 4 marks, and C6 = 3 marks. 
iv. The maximum obtainable points from the selected best 8 O’level grades is 64 (i.e A1 = 8marks multiply by 8 subjects). 
v. The total points you obtained after calculating Your O’level points will now be converted to 100% (for example if your O’level points is 48, it will then be calculated as: 48/64 X 100= 75) Therefore, your SREENING POINTS will now be 75 
vi. You'll be prompted to choose any two courses while doing the registration. NOTE: * Do not choose a Course that doesnot match your O'level results. 
* Do not choose any course that is not in-line with the Course you studied at the Polytechnic/College of Education Level. vii. The total fee for OAU screening Registration is N6,850
